Terms of Use – BlazeBlock Fire-Spread Prevention Systems (Hydrodôme – Hydrojet)
1. Proper use
BlazeBlock systems (models BZB-360 / Hydrodôme / Hydrojet) are designed for preventive use against the spread of forest and vegetation fires toward homes, by spraying pressurized water in a 360° radius around a house or building.
They may be used with a Class A wetting additive, which is safe for surrounding wildlife (gardens) and roofing materials.
In addition to this 360° protection, the systems provide roof protection to limit the impact of heat on roof structures and framing. The systems are designed to be installed on rooftops using a sliding hook support and are intended for strictly outdoor use only.
These products are not personal protective devices.
The systems are intended solely to prevent or slow the spread of fire on structures.
2. Installation conditions
The Hydrodôme or Hydrojet system must be installed carefully, in accordance with the supplied manual. It may be installed:
On the roof ridge using hooks for full 360° protection
Installation is carried out without drilling, using the sliding hook system designed to fit under ridge tiles. Other models for flat roofs are planned for future release.
The user must ensure that the installation surface is stable, solid, and safely accessible.
Installation is authorized only on compatible structures (roof or solid, flat ground).
The system:
Can be installed without drilling using the supplied kit
Must be connected to a water source with sufficient pressure and flow rate
Must be used in an outdoor environment, free of obstacles that could interfere with spraying
Rooftop installation is not recommended for people suffering from vertigo or lacking appropriate training. In such cases, professional assistance is strongly recommended.
3. Pressure, flow rate, and water supply
The system must be connected to a water source capable of providing a pressure between 5 and 10 bar, depending on:
The number of nozzles installed
Nozzle orifice diameter
Desired spray distance
Insufficient pressure reduces spray range and compromises perimeter coverage effectiveness.
Water supply may come from:
A source with stabilized pressure (e.g., a swimming pool)
A cistern, tank, reservoir, or well containing clean water
A domestic water network (often limited to 2–3 bar / 29–43 PSI)
For optimal performance, it is recommended to use:
A multistage pump, thermal pump, or booster pump delivering 6 to 10 bar at constant flow (minimum 4,000 L/h)
A reinforced distribution hose with a 16 mm internal diameter to reduce pressure losses
A hose length of less than 50 meters between the water source and the system, or a more powerful pump if required
Our BIO EX wetting–foaming additive (20-liter container) significantly improves water coverage and adhesion on surfaces, ensuring uniform distribution and increasing the effectiveness of fire protection, while remaining non-aggressive to microbial fauna, roofing materials, and surrounding elements.
BlazeBlock declines all responsibility for poor performance resulting from incorrect hydraulic configuration.
It is strongly recommended to test the system during high-risk periods.
If you are unsure about the equipment to use, our team is available to help you select a configuration suited to your specific needs.
4. Use in the event of a fire
The system must be activated before the fire arrives, as part of a preventive strategy.
It is not designed to be handled during an active fire.
In the event of a fire alert or active fire spread, evacuation is strongly recommended, even if the system is operating.
BlazeBlock assumes no responsibility for bodily injury resulting from the use of the device.
5. Maintenance and inspections
To ensure proper operation and longevity of the Hydrodôme or Hydrojet system, regular maintenance is essential.
Routine maintenance
After each prolonged use (nearby fire, testing, etc.), rinse the nozzles with clean water to remove scale, sand, or residues.
Visually inspect the condition of nozzles, seals, fittings, and the system structure.
If necessary, remove the nozzles and clean them manually using a needle or soft brush (never pierce or enlarge the orifices).
Recommended frequency
Ideally once per year
Before each reinstallation after winter storage
Special precautions
Protect the system during periods of severe frost
Never use corrosive or abrasive products not designed for aluminum or copper
Ensure all fasteners remain secure, especially after severe weather (wind, heavy rain)
Technical checks
Test the system under pressure during commissioning
Check that all nozzles deliver a constant flow rate
Ensure correct spray direction and full coverage of the protected area
If you have any doubts about the condition or proper functioning of the system, contact BlazeBlock for evaluation or replacement parts.
Lack of maintenance may reduce system effectiveness and void certain warranties defined in these terms and conditions.
6. Restrictions of use
Do not use the system for purposes other than those intended.
Hydrodôme and Hydrojet systems are preventive devices designed exclusively for outdoor use.
They must never be used:
Indoors or in enclosed spaces
As cleaning systems, agricultural irrigation systems, or for any diverted use
In the presence of unsupervised children or animals during operation
It is also prohibited to:
Modify the nozzles or use non-approved nozzles
Connect the system to pressure exceeding 16 bar (5 bar for Hydrojet)
Use water containing residues, oils, solvents, or chemical products
Any use contrary to the manufacturer’s recommendations voids the warranty and may present risks to property and persons.
7. Safety and compliance
The product is designed in compliance with:
Directive 2001/95/EC on General Product Safety
Directive 2006/42/EC on Machinery
All components are tested to withstand the specified pressures.
The user remains solely responsible for complying with the conditions of use described in this manual.
Water spray systems and devices to prevent the spread of fires to homes.
